POSITION: Elementary Assistant Principal

DESCRIPTION: Oxford Public Schools is seeking an innovative and motivational educational leader to serve as the Assistant Principal of Quaker Farms (PK-2) and Great Oak Elementary (3-5). We are looking for a dynamic motivated and compassionate professional who is committed to fostering a safe inclusive environment where students achieve high levels of academic and social excellence. The Assistant Principal will split their time across both schools supporting approximately 780 elementary students. The two schools are conveniently located on the same road along with Oxford Middle School. The ideal candidate will be a visionary collaborator with a strong commitment to continuous improvement who can support and inspire staff students and families.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assist in the development and implementation of a School Improvement Plan that is data-driven equity-focused and aligned with district goals
- Promote student achievement high-quality instruction and a nurturing school climate with a strong emphasis on high standards supportive relationships and community engagement
- Partner with families and the school community to foster meaningful engagement and communication
- Oversee and participate in PPT and 504 meetings in partnership with special education staff and support specialized programing
- Monitor student attendance discipline and behavior interventions in alignment with board policy and best practices
- Support building operations including student safety facilities management and coordination with custodial and security personnel
- Serve as a collaborative member of the administrative team and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendents designee
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- CT Intermediate Administration and Supervision Certification (092) or eligibility for certification required
- Minimum of five years successful teaching experience
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Experience with 504 and Special Education laws and processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior leadership or administrative experience
- Experience in supervising building-level Special Education programs and services
- Familiarity with SRBI school climate policy restorative practices and inclusive instructional strategies
START DATE: August 2025
RATE OF PAY: $122 591 - $135836 based on experience for 2025/2026 school year based on collective bargaining agreement
