Job Description

Job Title: Director for Talent Development Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Executive Director for Talent Development Pay Grade: 8

Dept. /School: Talent Development Days: 227

Supervises: Talent Development Coordinator and Talent Development Coaches

Primary Purpose: The Talent Development Director Personalized Professional Learning will be charged with ensuring Ector County ISD provides personalized professional learning for all staff and leaders have a strong ability to coach their team members utilizing a research based coaching model. The Talent Development Director will report directly to the Executive Director of Talent Development. Specifically this role will be responsible for designing planning and implementing a strategic coaching strategy that builds upon existing coaching professional learning. The Talent Development Director will oversee the Talent Development Coordinator that coordinates all district level professional learning and will oversee the Talent Development coaches responsible for coaching campus instructional coaches. This work is in support of the Districts strategic plan of investing in talent development.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Masters Degree (preferred)

Special Knowledge Skills:

  • Familiarity with Observation/Feedback coaching cycles
  • Ability to lead the team in developing district wide processes
  • Experience conducting research
  • Experience implementing professional learning for adults
  • Experience managing multiple projects with a keen attention to detail and timeliness
  • Ability to think critically to identify challenges analyze relevant data and translate the findings into actionable next steps in support of meeting goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build professional trusting and collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to develop clear concise and compelling messages
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the flexibility to work in a fluid and fast-paced environment
  • Eagerness for continuous personal development a deep curiosity and a history of executing on feedback to improve performance

Experience:

  • At least five years of professional work experience
  • Experience with a school district organization
  • Experience working in the Ector County public education landscape or a landscape that is similar preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Talent Development and the Coordinator of Talent Development to develop implement and evaluate a comprehensive strategy for coaching and providing personalized job-embedded professional learning
  • Create and implement long-term personalized professional learning processes goals and objectives for all professional learning and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Build program brand through extensive district marketing and building deep relationships with key community groups (i.e. Odessa Chamber of Commerce).
  • Regularly analyze data and lead programmatic review and suggest/make alterations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Cultivate professional learning developers within the district using professional learning sessions email voicemail and text messaging
  • Cultivate relationships with out of district professional learning developers using timely communication and
  • Develop an annual professional learning budget
  • Contribute to the development of tools and required reports to monitor effectiveness of professional learning
  • Attend and participate in district sessions and
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Executive Director of Talent Development

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise support and evaluate the performance of the Talent Development Coordinator and Talent Development coaches

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
