13The Compliance Advisory Transaction Reporting Director will be responsible for providing guidance advice and support to ensure the firms transaction reporting products comply with regulatory requirements. This role requires an in-depth understanding of financial markets relevant regulations and an ability to work closely with internal teams to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.
Youll work cross-functionally with Product Integration Legal and Operations Technology and other key stakeholders to ensure our solutions meet the regulatory reporting obligations (MiFIR EMIR SFTR CFTC etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Guidance:
Provide expert compliance advice on transaction reporting regulations including but not limited to MiFID II EMIR Dodd-Frank and other relevant jurisdictional frameworks..
Training & Awareness:
Provide training and updates to relevant teams on transaction reporting obligations regulations and internal compliance procedures.
Regulatory Change Management:
Monitor and interpret changes in regulatory reporting requirements and implement necessary changes to internal processes and systems to comply with new or amended regulations.
Industry Engagement
Participate in industry working groups to support the global trade/transaction reporting objectives and standards.
Audit & Testing:
Coordinate with internal audit functions to ensure periodic reviews and audits of transaction reporting solutions are conducted addressing any deficiencies or weaknesses identified.
Risk Management:
Identify assess and advise on risks related to transaction reporting ensuring appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place and followed.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of transaction reporting processes including changes to regulations decisions made and corrective actions taken. Report key compliance metrics to senior management as required.
Issue Resolution:
Respond to queries from regulatory bodies or internal stakeholders regarding transaction reporting working to resolve issues or discrepancies.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelors degree in Finance Law Business or a related field. A professional certification (e.g. ACA ACCA or equivalent) or additional qualifications related to financial regulation is desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a compliance advisory role regulatory transformation product or business analyst role in trade and transaction reporting. Ideally within a bank buyside fintech or consultancy.
Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of transaction reporting regulations including MiFID II EMIR Dodd-Frank and other relevant regulations.
Strong understanding of financial markets trading systems and reporting mechanisms.
Familiarity with financial products particularly OTC derivatives exchange trade derivatives securities and fixed income products and how these relate to transaction reporting obligations.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
Experience with transaction reporting platforms and systems is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory technology tools is a plus.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to analyze complex regulations and systems identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements to non-experts.
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in transaction reporting and documentation.
Stakeholder Management:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders including regulators and auditors.
Personal Attributes:
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Proactive solution-oriented and able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant field or professional qualifications in financial regulation (e.g. CFA ICA etc.).
Experience with project management particularly in implementing or upgrading reporting systems.
