Based in the Clock Tower building on the City Campus our team is part of Academic Programmes within the wider Student and Academic Services. We provide administrative support to the Academic Programmes Committee and Sub-Committee manage academic amendments and are responsible for the University Calendar publication and maintenance. This role is flexible as per the Universitys stance on flexible working.

 

Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

We are looking to appoint a full time 12-month fixed-term Academic Programmes Adviser to provide advice and support for academic amendments quality assurance and the successful operations of key Committees including the Academic Programmes Committee and Sub-Committee. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who has excellent organisational skills attention to detail relationship-building skills and an understanding of and interest in curriculum approval and review procedures within tertiary education. It provides a great chance to build strong secretarial experience within committees and to be involved in New Zealand-wide processes by working with the Committee on University Academic Programmes (CUAP) of Universities New Zealand. It also offers the opportunity to learn more about the Universitys new Curriculum Management System and how it can support this roles tasks.

The Academic Programmes Adviser will: 

  • Provide expertise and knowledge to support academic leaders and other staff in the development and approval of high-quality proposals and documents.
  • Support the functioning of relevant committees including Academic Programmes Committee and Academic Programmes Sub-committee including the preparation of agendas and minutes and the resolution of committee matters.
  • Review proposals and documents against criteria to ensure they meet requirements and expectations for quality and liaise with relevant staff to address concerns.
  • Work with the Academic Publication Editors and the Academic Programmes Team Leader to support course and programme change processes using the Universitys Curriculum Management System helping to ensure a seamless enrolment experience for students.
  • Actively protect participate and promote the Universitys commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 

The role is fixed-term for 12 months and the salary range is $62400 - $66800 per annum pro rata depending on experience. This role is flexible as per the Universitys stance on flexible working.
