Job Description

Employment Begins: 2025-2026 School Year

2.5 hour/day; approximately 40 days/year

WAREHOUSE COURIER

STANDARD POSITION DESCRIPTION

Classification: Warehouse Courier Location: Warehouse

Reports to: Director of Food and Nutrition FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Bargaining Unit: PSE

This is a standard position description to be used for positions with similar duties responsibilities classification and compensation. Employees assigned to the position description may or may not perform all of the essential functions indicated in this position description.

This job description does not constitute an employment agreement between the employer and employee and is subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change.

Part I: Position Summary:

The warehouse courier is primarily responsible for driving a designated route to pick up bank deposit from district sites and deliver to the bank. Assignment may include pickup and delivery of mail and supplies between district sites.

The District represents a diverse community with a population ofmore than 50% of students with diverse backgrounds. We seek an individual who has successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities. The selected candidate must demonstrate a commitment to strengthening community engagement and communication with the Districts diverse populations.

Part II: Supervision and Controls over the Work:

Work is performed under the direction of the warehouse supervisor who schedules and assigns work and sets operating priorities and provides direction in difficult or unusual situations. Once assignment and direction is received employee performs the tasks with relative independence.

Part III: Major Duties and Responsibilities (Duties include but are not limited to the following):

  1. Provides pick up of all District bank deposits and delivers to the District bank for depositing.
  2. Provides pick-up and delivery of supplies and materials to appropriate sites in district.
  3. Maintain punctual attendance and adherence to the designated route.
  4. Maintain necessary paperwork to ensure that all pickups deliveries and deposits are accounted for.
  5. Handles confidential information and/or high value documents/items including cash and observes strict confidentiality regarding student and personnel information.
  6. Maintain a good driving record.
  7. Operate District delivery vehicle.
  8. Clean and care for his/her assigned vehicle.
  9. Maintain a commitment to quality customer service.
  10. Required to follow Board policies and stay abreast of updates and changes.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Part IV: Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Incumbents must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.
  2. Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  3. Ability to follow directions and exercise sound judgment and decision making.
  4. Must possess a valid Washington State drivers license and a safe driving record and be able and willing to operate district owned vehicles.
  5. This position may be subject to random drug testing.
  6. Ability to work independently as well as under the direction of others.

Part V: Desired Qualifications:

  • Successful employment experience in courier warehouse delivery or customer service position.

Part VI: Physical and Environmental Requirements of the Position:

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to bend crawl sit talk move about hear and speak. May be required to work in restricted spaces and/or under difficult lighting and access conditions. Noise level may be high when operating power equipment. Employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions when transporting materials.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and be able to use appropriate support equipment to lift and move greater amounts.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to use properly use such safety equipment as is appropriate to the work to prevent injury to self or others.

Retirement and Deferred Compensation

These are supplemental retirement savings programs that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.
