Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Junior IT Engineer to join our growing technology team. This role is perfect for someone at the start of their IT career who is passionate about solving problems eager to learn and thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment. Youll play a key role in supporting our internal teams by ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations and delivering exceptional support experiences.

What We Need: To succeed in this role youll need a strong ability to understand and respond to customer needs with clarity and precision. Youre action-oriented results-driven and bring a passionate commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. You collaborate effectively with others contributing to a high-performing team culture that values continuous growth capability development and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clear ability to understand customer requirements and capturing into the ticketing system to minimise rework when troubleshooting or escalating
- Maintain a high standard of quality for call and ticket handling including phone manner data entry and classification of requests
- Provide first-level support for hardware software and network issues.
- Respond to helpdesk tickets emails and phone queries.
- Troubleshoot issues related to Windows common office apps and basic networking (Wi-Fi VPN).
- Assist with installing and maintaining desktops laptops and mobile devices.
- Manage user accounts and access in Microsoft 365.
- Support office setups and video conferencing tools like Microsoft Teams.
- Document solutions and maintain accurate service logs.
What You Bring:
- A technical degree diploma or relevant IT certification (e.g. CompTIA A Microsoft Fundamentals).
- Previous experience in a customer-facing support role.
- Flexibility in a seven-day newsroom - including weekend shifts - and the ability to work later in the day.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Exposure to web development (HTML CSS JavaScript) (desirable)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams (desirable).
