Job Description

Job Title: Attendance (PEIMS) Specialist

Reports to: District PEIMS Coordinator and Campus Principal

Dept.: Campus as assigned

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Scale: CP4

Calendar: 203

Primary Purpose:

Maintain accurate Attendance Special Program and PEIMS records for the Campus. Perform data entry and data analysis for attendance Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data Special Program data and grades.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
  • Proficient keyboarding file maintenance and 10-key skills
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Two years data entry experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing.

  • Collect and enter attendance into established database and verify accuracy according to established state and district procedures.
  • Prepare and print reports including attendance reports grades class or personnel rosters 6-week Special Program reports end-of-semester reports and data submission reports.
  • Maintain physical and computerized records including student cumulative folders progress and failure reports class rosters grade books and schedule changes if applicable.
  • Process new student records including required enrollment documents.
  • Request transcripts and records utilizing the Texas State Student Data System Portal.

  • Create cumulative folders.
  • Enter and verify student data in Focus.
  • Report all attendance PEIMS or Focus problems to PEIMS Coordinator or appropriate administrator.
  • Assist campus principal and office staff as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA Guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
  • All duties must be performed in person.

As assigned by the District PEIMS Coordinator or Campus Principal
