The role
The Senior Departmental Liaison Officer works with a team of other DLOs representing the Department to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of the Ministers Office. It handles requests for correspondence briefing materials media releases speeches parliamentary questions and briefs and contributes to continuous improvements to processes and systems. It provides a key role in mentoring junior DLO staff as well as supporting the Principal DLO in delivering support to the office and the Department.

About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate thorough working knowledge of the machinery of government the roles of Cabinet & Parliament within NSW as well as the procedures required for ministerial correspondence briefings parliamentary material and speeches.

You will have strong communication skills including the ability to deliver high-quality verbal and written advice on complex and sensitive issues to diverse audiences. You proactively engage and communicate with all stakeholders in a positive and professional manner to ensure strong relationships are developed and maintained to support your commitment to provide superior effective and efficient support for current and emerging matters in a sensitive and ever-changing environment.
