IT Service Continuity Lead

The Service Continuity Lead will support the ongoing development testing and uplift of the department s IT service continuity (ITSCM) framework strengthening organisational resilience and ensuring critical business functions can be restored to an acceptance level of service after a disruption. This role will collaborate with internal and external service providers to ensure continuity across the department s business services and assure that continuity is being designed into systems processes and ways of working.

Key duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development of service continuity and recovery plans driving consistency and improving the quality of continuity planning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify ICT services and systems that support critical business processes.
  • Work with the business continuity team to support business impact analysis (BIA) and the assessment of risks.
  • Maintain and improve the Key Business Services (KBS) list
  • Contribute to the planning design and co-ordination of DRP testing working alongside Service Owners and stakeholders to ensure the appropriate governance of the ITSCM framework.
  • Ensure the appropriate governance of the ITSCM framework.
  • Strengthen our service resilience culture through education of stakeholders.
  • Provision of status reports to the fortnightly service continuity working group and monthly governance forum.

Criteria

The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.

Essential criteria

1. ITIL Certification and a strong understanding of service levels.

2. Minimum 5 years experience in service continuity and disaster recovery (DR) within a medium/large organisation ICT environment.

3. Experience in service continuity and DR planning and testing

4. Strong stakeholder management skills to foster collaboration across business and technology teams.

5. Extensive understanding and ability in applying recognised industry toolsets and frameworks associated with business continuity management such as ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management; Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) etc.

6. Ability to implement new procedures and processes to improve efficiencies

Desirable criteria

1. Demonstrated ability to engage influence and present to executives.

2. A strong commitment to learning continuous improvement and a passion for service continuity and DR.

3. Experience with working with governance risk and compliance systems and tools.

4. A solid grasp of IT governance cybersecurity risk and compliance.





Requirements

Key questions to be answered by candidate:
  • Outline your knowledge and experience with VMware virtualisation and automation
  • Outline your knowledge and experience with Windows Server technologies and/or Linux technologies(provide examples)
  • Outline your knowledge of and understanding for managing a Storage Area Network CommVault and Veeam backup and recovery products
  • Outline your experience working under and ITIL framework
  • Outline your knowledge and experience with cyber security (provide examples of toolsets utilised)
