Job Description

Educational Service Unit 7 is seeking applicants to fill the opening of the Title IC Education Program (T1C) Recruiter for Dodge Saunders and Washington counties. This full time position is responsible for proper and timely identification and recruitment of all eligible children in the ESU 7T1C project. Recruiters obtain pertinent information to document the basis of a childs eligibility using criteria established in guidance by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Migrant Education.

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB TASKS:

  1. Interacting with ComputersUsing computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to set up functions enter data or process information. This includes: computers to enter access or retrieve data and using word processing spreadsheet and desktop publishing software.
  2. Communicating with Supervisors or PeersProviding information to supervisors coworkers and subordinates by telephone in written form email or in person.
  3. Performing Clerical ActivitiesPerforming daytoday clerical tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. This includes: filling out forms and purchase requisitions maintaining digital calendars processing invoices routing multiline telephone calls and typing correspondence.
  4. Getting InformationObserving receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  5. Documenting/Recording InformationEntering recording storing or maintaining information in written or electronic form. This includes: entering time sheet information performing typing or data entry preparing meeting materials and taking messages.
  6. Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal RelationshipsDeveloping constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
  7. Organizing Planning and Prioritizing WorkDeveloping specific goals and plans to prioritize organize and accomplish your work.
  8. Communicating with Persons Outside OrganizationCommunicating with people outside the organization representing the organization to customers. This information can be exchanged in person in writing or by telephone email or other digital means.
  9. Working Directly with the Public This includes staff school personnel and members of the public.
  10. Scheduling Work and ActivitiesScheduling events programs and activities as well as the work of others. This includes: arranging teleconference calls making travel arrangements scheduling meetings or appointments and scheduling or contracting meeting facilities.
  11. Updating and Using Relevant KnowledgeKeeping uptodate technically and applying new knowledge to your job. This includes using oral and written communication techniques. Learn to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented.
  12. Making Decisions and Solving ProblemsAnalyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  13. Monitoring Processes Materials or SurroundingsMonitoring and reviewing information from materials events or the environment to detect or assess problems.
  14. Maintain knowledge of currentT1C federal regulatory guidance requirements and Nebraska Department of Education (NDE)T1C standards in the area of Identification and Recruitment (ID&R).
  15. Ability to apply ID&R regulatory guidance on casebycase situations.
  16. Demonstrate knowledge and competence in using the electronic Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and MIS2000 database.
  17. Identify assess and evaluate information received from a variety of sources in determining prospective eligible students and their families for program services.
  18. Meet and interview prospective eligible students and their families to determine eligibility for program services.
  19. Establish and maintain a relationship with eligible families once they have been recruited.
  20. Knowledge of and compliance with the State ID&R process and timelines.
  21. Communicate with school district staff and employers of eligible workers andT1C and establish procedures of communication concerning census information.
  22. Collaborate with public and private community agencies associated with serving rural/urban populations.
  23. Ability to travel on a regional state and national level.
  24. Ability to read and evaluate information on printed stateadopted COE form.
  25. Communicate with other ESU 7 and NDET1C staff regarding COE information.
  26. Participate in local state and national trainings to remain current on all federal and state requirements and standards.
  27. Maintain confidentiality of information concerningT1C staff eligible students and families.
  28. Promote and attend local state and nationalT1C sponsored events and trainings.
  29. Complete routine paperwork.
  30. Adhere to all ESU 7 policies procedures and supervisory directives.
  31. Perform other duties as assigned.
