Position Purpose
The Sales Development Representative seeks new opportunities for our sales team by contacting and developing relationships with potential clients. This position generates sales opportunities and contributes to longterm business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
Utilize a consistent contact attempt process via phone and email to followup nurture and qualify leads.
Prospect educating and qualifying leads to create salesready opportunities to hand over to Account Executives and Regional Vice Presidents.
Maintain industry and technology knowledge to ensure that you remain a trusted resource for prospects and customers and will successfully manage and overcome prospect objections.
Develop and maintain daily plans to maximize phone time including precall planning adhering to territory hours and customizing scripts and outreach cadences to market segments and prospect types.
Work with Sales and Marketing to develop strategic contact lists and maintain quality contact data within the CRM and database.
Report to the Manager of Business Development on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) lead generation results
The ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong work ethic is an effective communicator and has a desire to perfect their craft.
All other duties as assigned
The performance of SDR will be evaluated based on his/her effectiveness in meeting the following KPIs on an ongoing basis:
Make 150 outbound calls per week
Send 150 emails per week
Set up 8 qualified meetings per month

Experience/Knowledge
Some proven work experience as a Sales Development Representative Sales Account Executive or similar role.
Preferred experience prospecting and calling on insurance agents general agents and insurance carriers.
Must be proficient with applications such as Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and CRM applications like HubSpot or Salesforce.
Experience in direct sourcing and prospecting new clients a plus.
Knowledge and understanding of property and casualty industry.
Skills/Abilities
Proven sales ability with a successful track record of increasing sales
Experience building and maintaining relationships with prospects referral sources and colleagues
Demonstrates the ability to be selfmotivated independent worker
Demonstrates the ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships
A BS/BA degree or higher
Strong networking ability with business partners
Ability to be proactive innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs
Ability to deliver dynamic presentations to business clients
Some experience directly sourcing and prospecting new clients experience
Knowledge and understanding of property and casualty industry
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
To be successful in this role you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns strategic lists and meeting quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with potential clients from first contact until handoff to Business Development Officers.
Education Requirements
Bachelors degree (B. A.) from a fouryear college or university.
