Context of the Job:
Reporting to the Team Lead/Assistant Director of the HR Hub the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing a clientfocused approach for any HRrelated activities. This role supports various HR functions including but not limited to: onboarding offboarding employee relations risk mitigation HRrelated problemsolving and payroll processes. The HR Generalist plays a key part in ensuring a smooth employee experience accurate data management and positive employee relationships with the HR department. They will collaborate with team members to enhance HR processes build trusted connections and maintain compliance with organizational policies. This role is pivotal in fostering an engaged and supportive environment for employees ensuring their needs are met with respect and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
HR Processes & Data Management:
Take the lead on executing HRrelated processesincluding but not limited to JEDs Position Change Forms Supervisor Updates Pay additional assignments Scontracts etc.
Implement and manage data changes within the HR system ensuring accurate and uptodate information for all employees.
Assist with additional HR assignments and projects as required contributing to team initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Work with HR Hub team members to promote a culture of data accuracy and compliance.
Provide direction and support to clients on data management practices and tools.
Stay current with best practices in data management and records retention recommending enhancements to existing processes.
Help facilitate HR processes including but not limited to SEMU grad turnaround and auto term to maintain accurate employee records and compliance with organizational standards.
Employee Support & Relations:
Facilitate the onboarding process for all employees ensuring all necessary documentation and support is provided.
Coordinate onboarding activities for fulltime employees including orientation sessions training programs and documentation processing.
Facilitate the offboarding process for faculty and staff ensuring compliance with exit procedures and conducting exit interviews as necessary.
Provides support to supervisors on time and attendance in UD Workforce.
May manage Tier 1 TDX requests including employee & labor relations intake and recruitment support.
May be responsible for the hiring of parttime and student workers.
May respond to inquiries for staff and faculty performance appraisals.
May process MOUs and reclassifications.
Completes FLSA requests and submits for appropriate approvals.
Point of contact for assigned units for payroll/personnel records questions. Investigates issues and provides resolution to the responsible party.
Identify and assist in resolving employee overpayment issues coordinating with payroll to implement necessary corrections
Request off cycle check requests as needed ensuring adherence to company policies and accuracy in payroll transactions.
Visa & Compliance Management:
Completes FLSA requests and submits for appropriate approvals.
May provide assistance to support visa sponsorship processes.
May track sabbatical requests and leaves.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure strategic business goals are met and that the HR Hub effectively supports their needs.
Serve as an integral part of the clientfacing HR team by fostering strong relationships with HR Partners Centers of Excellence and other Hub members.
Support initiatives to promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.
Participate in crossfunctional projects aimed at improving datarelated workflows and systems.
Miscellaneous:
Performs miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field preferred and a minimum of 3 years of HR experience with a focus on onboarding payroll or employee relations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong attention to detail in managing employee records and compliance tracking.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple HR tasks simultaneously and to be able to prioritize responsibilities effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze HR data and metrics to help improve HR processes.
Ability to identify issues and implement solutions efficiently.
Capability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and procedures.
Teamoriented with a willingness to support peers and contribute to HR & institutional goals.
