Pressing TechnicianPosition Overview
Responsibilities: Make machine process adjustments on the press line and on computer based on calculated formulas Take an active role in committees Must be able to read and analyze charts and graphs and utilize this data to make line adjustments Must have the ability to be cross trained for other jobs Operate baler in recycling of raw materials Setups for different productsMake machine/process adjustments on line and on computer. Follow specific instructions on each order Achieve set quality standards. Overall visual control of the entire line. Visually inspect products for defects and grading. Complete quality reports. Perform physical testing on finished products. Must be able to analyze and solve complex problems & act based on findings Perform visual analogies; recognition of causal relationships in pictured situations such as paper dimensions and pattern alignments Complete Pressing Line change overs Operate & load the paper lay ups Adjust & maintain the efficient operation of the Press Adjust & maintain the Star Cooler Prepare finished material for work in process Be able to successfully press registered emboss product to include proper adjustment and lighting of the registered emboss camera. Prep future orders for production Operate adjust & maintain defect detection system to include defect detection system trouble shooting for identifying broken & torn overlay Perform pressing center line set up Load boards on the Mill Line utilizing a lift truck Stage finished boards from press into the WIP Racks using a PIT Complete visual inspection of pressed boards Remove finished boards from press line for two hour QC check Calibration & verification of: gloss meter vision camera and registered emboss camera Be able to change caul plates Perform and assist in the process of changing press pads as necessary Requirements: Must be able to handle the stress of meeting goals and production requirements. Must be able to visualize defects in the product. Must be able to visualize color defects in the product. Preferred Skills: Basic reading writing and math ability. Must pass colorblindness tests. Must be familiar with current computer systems and software. Must be able to operate a lift truck once trained. Must possess cognitive skills & understanding of a pressing production line to process (including putting to memory what has been learned) solving problems and making complex decisions. Must be able to make decisions utilizing mathematical skills on specific dimensions of the process Must be able to use nonverbal reasoning skills Must be able to analyze and solve complex problems & act based on findings Must be able to work well in a Team environment Rate $17.65
