Job Overview
As a Sr. Engineer supporting cyber resiliency at TMobile you will play a critical role in safeguarding our most critical assets and ensuring their resilience against cyber attacks! Your responsibilities will include asset management backups and recovery testing. You will drive the strategy to protect TMobiles critical infrastructure and services ensuring they are robust and resilient to highimpact cyber threats.
In this role you will collaborate with various teams to classify and manage critical assets complete and validate backup processes and conduct recovery testing to ensure the effectiveness of our cyber contingency plans. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the integrity and availability of TMobiles services thereby protecting the company from potential disruptions and ensuring business continuity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with critical asset owners to maintain a catalogue of critical asset perform asset management backups and recovery testing.
  • Classify critical assets and ensure they are immutably backed up and recoverable.
  • Conduct tabletop exercises and recovery tests to validate the effectiveness of backup and recovery processes.
  • Build strategy and documentation for Incident Response Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning
  • Collaborate with multifunctional teams to ensure alignment on cyber resiliency objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in cyber resiliency practices and processes.
  • Conduct threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors.
  • Anticipate identify and address issues with tight timelines.
  • Leads / organizes large scale analysis efforts spanning multiple departments. Uses internal and external data resources to make strategic business decisions and persuade others. Collaborates and builds longterm relationships with key partners. Anticipates likely collaborator responses to specific recommendations and can address accordingly.
  • Leads information security review of new technologies designs and remediation planning efforts.
  • Collaborates with Engineering & Operations Teams to address telco and application security vulnerabilities.
  • Proactively identifies process or technology improvements within existing legacy applications or infrastructure and seeks out remediation.
  • Investigates and/or leads identifying security needs & recommends plans/resolutions. Implements tests & monitors info security improvements.
  • Maintains visibility inside & outside of information security at the Executive (Director/Sr Director) level. Works with groups such as application support engineering ops finance privacy risk management etc.
  • Significant experience with the analysis of underlying technologies that form the solution necessary for the application of threat identification analysis and thread model design. The threat model depicts trust boundary threat agent(s) threat vector(s) and safeguard(s) necessary to protect person asset data and TMobile brand.
  • Proactively identifies areas that need to be developed and seeks out expertise in those areas. Keeps abreast of current developments and trends and can use this knowledge to create a case to address major issues and create specific action plans to address the gaps that the team controls. Plays a leadership role in the execution of that action plan.
  • Leads security projects driven by groups both internal and external to info security.
  • Domain expert in multiple facets of network & information security business continuity disaster recovery asset management recovery testing and other topics as assigned.
  • Advanced understanding of IP/Security solutions & technologies applicable to the Wireless Network Architecture.
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.


Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelors Degree Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent work experience. (Required)
  • 47 years Experience with increasing responsibility with security related software and/or business process design (Required)
  • 24 years Experience with the following: project/team lead telco expertise and facilitation of multifunctional solution design teams.
  • 24 years Technical Project Management
  • Experience with high level design architecture security technologies Networking web services and SOA. Understanding of encryption obfuscation tokenization technologies
  • Authority in all facets of network & information security including Firewall policy design SSL Certificate management vulnerability analysis & mitigation and other topics as assigned.


Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems endpoint protection and secure architecture design.
  • Expertise in conducting threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors.
  • Significant knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the area of info security
  • Ability to create technical specification and requirements and work independently and with no direction/supervision. Able to quickly adapt to new or evolving technologies related to new product & services requiring validation or research.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills with diverse multifunctional groups. Ability to communicate advanced concepts to leadership peers and others in subordinate roles.
  • Always act with tact and integrity and work with a variety of individuals in a positive and productive manner.
  • Dedicated and able to work under tight timelines.
  • Strong problem solving / troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to plan organize and prioritize tasks to complete independently as well as delegate and track progress within the team all within the time frame established.
  • Indepth knowledge of security standard processes in largescale environments. Author white papers and presents at industry conferences. Able to drive industry standards and socialize internally and externally.
  • Strong presentation skills to large and small audiences.
  • Understanding load balancers (ex A10 F5) firewalls (ex CheckPoint) Venafi MDM (ex Mobile Iron) Cloud (ex AWS Azure) Malware Protection (ex FireEye) Advanced Persistent Threats (ex Damballa) Privileged Accounts (ex CyberArk) SIEM (ex ArcSight) Log & Event (ex Splunk) Intrusion IDS/IPS (ex Symantec) Cloud Platform (ex PCF Docker) Scanning (ex Qualys) AppSec (ex Veracode)
  • Expert understanding of TMobiles network elements and how they work together (EIT Engineering & 3rd Party).
  • Advance knowledge of Scripting tools (Python/Perl/Shell/HTML/PHP)
  • Knowledge of federal & compliance regulations e.g. SOX PCI & CPNI

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) CISSP and/or CCSK and/or CCSP and/or CISA/CISM certification a plus (Preferred)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) (Preferred)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) (Preferred)

    Base Pay Range: $103400 $186400

    Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
