Job Description

Want to help Earths most customercentric company design implement and monitor risk mitigation strategies to improve the customer experience and protect Amazons brand

In this role you will work closely with Amazons global transportation businesses to build strategic initiatives and frameworks that support carrier partners in meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices driver / provider eligibility and safety standards. You will be expected to understand laws and regulations applicable to the Amazon transportation network assess effectiveness of existing risk and control concepts and propose innovative mitigation strategies that enable business success. You must clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to senior leadership and will be responsible for partnering with crossfunctional teams to design workflows in support of riskreduction activities. You will set program objectives assign appropriate metrics that measure success and drive business changes that reduce risk. You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders legal tech and field operations teams to implement worldclass customercentric compliance and risk management solutions.


Key job responsibilities
Ability to define develop and implement risk programs and deploy iterative improvements quantified with metrics.
Ability to lead monitor and drive projects through to ontime completion.
Ability to establish successful partnerships (collaboratively and transparently) with senior business leadership legal and technology teams to ensure alignment between core business priorities and transportation compliance risk strategies.
Developing an indepth knowledge of the operational processes risk landscapes and control environments impacting global transportation compliance programs.
Demonstrable excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrable problemsolving skills using data and insights to drive both tactical and strategic business decisions.

A day in the life
The Principal Risk Manager will leverage their knowledge of labor and employment laws insight into industry regulations and standards and their experience in risk assessments to develop mitigation strategies that influence Amazons transportation businesses throughout all phases of their lifecycle. The individual will work collaboratively with business stakeholders legal partner audit teams and tech to implement worldclass customercentric riskreducing solutions and drive process improvements. The Principal Risk Manager executes using a broad set of skills that range from highlevel strategic thinking to deep dive analytical problem solving. They exemplify high judgment effective decisionmaking innovative thinking and a strong customer focus.



About the team
Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) is the voice of risk and compliance for Amazons transportation businesses across 16 regions. We proactively identify and manage risks through mitigation strategies and provide assurance that Amazon and our carrier partners comply with the highest transportation and legal standards (including legislative regulatory and contractual). Anchored by sound subject matter expertise processes and growing technology solutions our TRC leaders improve public safety and enable business growth as we work diligently to serve our customers.

10 years risk management audit legal compliance or similar discipline.
BA or BS in business economics operations accounting finance policy IT or related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Masters degree or equivalent
Auditing and/or compliance skills (e.g. SOX SOC etc.) including risk assessments defining audit roadmaps audit or risk program design control environment process documentation and control mapping.
An ability to design and interpret meaningful KPIs and metrics
Experience managing external agencies.
Understanding of basic data analytical skills and tools such as Tableau SQL (intermediate to advanced).
One or more professional certifications CPA CISA CIA CFE CCEP PMP.
Background in continuous improvement (i.e. Six Sigma ISO Total Quality etc.).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $214500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
