Job Description

Summary

National Jewish Health is seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Finance and Operations Analyst to support our Clinical Research Services (CRS) team. This position plays a key role in managing financial and operational components of clinical research by preparing budgets tracking study-related expenses analyzing data and maintaining internal systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in finance or analytics and demonstrate a proactive mindset for process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafts budgets and invoices for industry-funded studies; monitors payments and reconciliations
  • Coordinates with internal teams to implement research budgets accurately
  • Builds and analyzes reports to support operational and financial goals
  • Serves as the systems administrator for Clinical Conductor providing training and support
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure compliance and optimize research workflows
  • Supports clinical managers with data insights to improve program efficiency

Position Summary
The CRS Finance and Operations Analyst supports clinical research efforts within CRS by completing assigned operational and reporting tasks as well as proactively recommending improvements to operational or financial practices based on data and analytics. The position works closely with CRS leadership to achieve and demonstrate progress toward departmental and institutional operational and budget goals.

Essential Duties

  1. Responsible for assigned tasks including the development of the first draft of the study budget for industry-funded studies; invoicing study-related expenses; following up on payments; troubleshooting problems with internal and external stakeholders; and monthly financial reconciliations for assigned studies.
  2. Facilitates the flow of information between CRS and ancillary departments to ensure accurate implementation of research budgets.
  3. Works with the Finance Manager and CRS Director to identify data sources and develop both Financial and Operational metrics and reporting.
  4. Serves as systems administrator for Clinical Conductor. Works with department leadership and the vendor to identify and implement improvements to NJHs current build-out and use of Clinical Conductor. Troubleshoots issues and provides training and support for other users of the system.
  5. Works closely with the Sponsored Program Office to ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements as well as timely reporting expectations.
  6. Assists the finance manager and director in providing information and support to clinical managers to drive operational efficiencies and work toward program goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelors degree in business analytics finance or a related field is required.
  2. Work Experience: 1 year of experience in finance or analytics required
  3. Special Training Certification or Licensure: Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau Power BI Qlik) and SQL preferred. Prior healthcare experience preferred.

Salary Range: $58656.00 - $77572.56
