Danvers Public Schools is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Elementary Special Education Teacher to join our innovative LanguageBased Learning Disability (LBLD) Program serving students in Grades 35. This specialized program supports students with languagebased learning disabilities including dyslexia who demonstrate average to aboveaverage cognitive abilities but require structured multisensory instruction to strengthen their literacy and language processing skills.About the LBLD Program:The LBLD Model is designed to empower students through individualized researchbased instruction that targets reading writing oral language and executive functioning. Instruction is delivered in a highly structured languagerich environment using multisensory approaches and a collaborative teaching model. The curriculum is aligned with gradelevel standards while also addressing each students unique learning profile through specially designed instruction and targeted interventions.Reports To: Great Oak PrincipalKey Responsibilities:
Provide direct specialized instruction in reading writing and language using evidencebased methodologies such as OrtonGillingham Wilson LiPS Seeing Stars and others.
Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that reflect student strengths needs and learning goals.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including general educators speechlanguage pathologists occupational therapists and reading specialists to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
Integrate executive functioning and study skills into daily instruction to promote student independence and organization.
Utilize a variety of data sources and progress monitoring tools to assess student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
Provide students with access to assistive technology and tools that support literacy development and academic engagement.
Maintain consistent communication with families and participate in IEP meetings team meetings and family conferences.
Foster a supportive inclusive classroom environment that promotes student confidence engagement and a love for learning.
