Job Description

THE ROLE

The Head of People Operations plays a critical role across the NextEnergy Group in leading the development operation and optimisation of core HR processes and policies across the employee lifecycle supporting the companys next phase of growth.

To enable their success the Head of People Operations will also own the HR Tech Stack (all HR IT systems) partnering with our colleagues in IT and other HR leaders (eg Head of Talent) to ensure seamless processes and handoffs as well as the ability to provide analytics/ insights to the Group Leadership Team to inform strategy and planning processes.

You will form part of a transforming HR function working with the newly appointed Chief People Officer (who joined in January 2025) to enable growth through our people. This is a newly created role required now that the company has reached a sufficient size.

There is a dedicated Employee Experience Manager who would report to the Head of People Operations and further HR Managers providing incountry support in India and Italy (depending on the candidate these roles may report to the Head of People Operations)

You will need to have significant experience in People Operations activities or process management/ data analytics and demonstrate an interest in the HR agenda.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

People Operations

  • Ownership of the end to end management of core processes in the Employee Lifecycle (onboarding offboarding mobility payroll benefits administration goal setting performance management)
  • Partnering with other HR Leaders to facilitate the management of people processes (outside of people operations) to ensure technology is leveraged optimally and that data insights are shared. (Eg Partnering with Head of Talent regarding promotion processes).
  • Ownership of the Global and Local People Policies across the Group ensuring they are fit for purpose and reflective of our organisational culture. Partnering with external experts where needed.
  • Be a role model for other HR professionals and ensure the quality and consistency of HR services across the organisation.

Engagement

  • Own the Engagement/ Employee Listening strategy for the business using this as another lens to assess the vitality of the organisation.
  • As the People Data Expert use your knowledge of the tools/ insights to ensure robust plans are in place to ensure that the company stays laser focused on keeping the best of its culture whilst it scales.
  • Track performance against plans and ensure key messages are communicated within the Group and with external stakeholders.

People Analytics

  • Provide robust insightful regular people analytics data that enables the CPO HR Leaders and Business Leader to understand the performance of the HR function and vitality of the wider organisation.

HR Technology/ HR Systems

  • Ownership of the HR tech stack strategy and approach to ensure efficient process management and to provide high quality data insights. (HRIS: HiBob. ATS: Greenhouse. LMS: Udemy)
  • Leading the HR AI strategy (partnering with IT) to enable HR to focus on increasingly higher value activities.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Graduate calibre ideally CIPD qualified with significant post qualification experience
  • High orientation to process improvement delivering quality outcomes and placing people at the centre.
  • Significant experience of leveraging data to provide insights and being able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • HR IT systems experience (knowledge of this fast developing market) experience of working with our chosen technology systems is a benefit (HiBob Greenhouse Udemy)
  • Commercially astute able to negotiate with suppliers on behalf of the company
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and influencing skills including excellent written and spoken English Language Skills. An additional language (Italian/ Spanish) would be an added benefit.
  • Knowledge of HR practices in high performance environments
  • Orientation to technological literacy and comfort with data management and interpretation
  • Exceptional organisational analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HR software (HiBob Greenhouse)
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • In the region of 12 years experience of working within People Operations or Process Improvement/ Data Analytics roles ideally in Infrastructure type businesses.
  • Experience of driving change programs either within HR or a related function (IT systems changes/ Commercially focused programs). If the candidate does not have direct HR/ People Operations experience they would need to have a significant interest in moving into HR and demonstrate a commitment to learning the HR content of this work (eg studying for their CIPD/ related qualification)
  • Comfortable in setting strategy and rolling sleeves up to make change happen.
  • Experience working in International HR environments ideally across Europe.
  • The right to live and work in the UK
