On behalf of our Tanzania based client we are looking for a competent and experienced HSE Commissioning Coordinator
MISSIONS / SERVICE DIMENSIONS
The HSE Commissioning Coordinator is responsible for supervising and managing the HSE aspects of all commissioning activities for EACOP Project in Tanzania sites. His role is to ensure that commissioning processes adhere to safety regulations project standards and best practices. The HSE Commissioning Coordinator will coordinate work permits interface closely with the Project HSE Team and provide guidance to ensure safe and compliant commissioning operations.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ACTIVITIES
HSE Supervision for Commissioning Activities:
Oversee the HSE aspects of all commissioning operations ensuring that activities comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations project standards and best practices.
Conduct regular safety audits inspections and HSE performance assessments on commissioning works to identify potential risks and improve safety measures.
Ensure all personnel involved in commissioning activities are briefed on project HSE standards and have the necessary permits training and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Coordination of Work Permits:
Manage and coordinate work permits for commissioning activities ensuring alignment with project and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the work permit approval process liaising with commissioning teams and the Project HSE Team to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Review and validate work permits to confirm that all hazard assessments controls and safety procedures are in place.
Interface with Project HSE Team:
Act as the main liaison between the commissioning team and the Project HSE Team ensuring clear communication and alignment on HSE matters.
Coordinate daily and weekly HSE meetings with the commissioning team to discuss ongoing activities HSE issues and preventive actions.
Provide updates to the Project HSE Team on HSE performance incidents and corrective actions for commissioning activities.
Safety Training and Support:
Support the Project HSE Team in delivering HSE training sessions and toolbox talks for commissioning personnel.
Identify specific HSE training needs related to commissioning activities and arrange or recommend appropriate training sessions.
Mentor and guide personnel in safety practices emergency procedures and compliance measures throughout the commissioning process.
Incident Management and Reporting:
Lead or support incident investigations related to commissioning coordinating with the Project HSE Team to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Prepare and submit regular HSE reports and updates for commissioning activities including incident logs audit findings and status reports on corrective actions.
Promote a proactive safety culture within the commissioning team and encourage continuous HSE improvement.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Degree: Bachelor s degree in Safety Engineering Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
Minimum of 58 years of HSE experience in the oil and gas sector with significant experience in commissioning or construction projects.
Strong understanding of commissioning processes work permit systems and HSE regulations for oil and gas projects
Ability to work in a multicultural business environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with project teams and coordinating HSE activities.
Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
