Job Description
This position will require the employee to fulfill the duties of FDT Rambler and FDT Technician at Morehead Planetarium. Duties are as follows: FDT Rambler: Provide fully live astronomy content during Carolina Skies Shows Assist in training of new full dome theater student staff Assist full time staff with developing content for Carolina Skies shows FDT Technician: Assist in seating guests in the FDT Assist the Navigator or Rambler with FDT Operations Conduct brief star tours following the digital programs in the theater Provide technical support in the event of a system failure or error. Assist with resetting the theater following shows
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Exhibit a high level of responsibility organization and resourcefulness. Demonstrate strong communication skills in front of audiences. Possess an enthusiasm for learning and teaching.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Experience working with a variety of audiences in an educational setting; strong astronomy education skills; bilingual proficiency
Work Schedule
Tuesday Sunday 9:00 AM 1:00 PM with occasional afternoons/evenings.
