Assistant Superintendent Innovation Engagement & STEAM
The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Superintendent Innovation Engagement & STEAM are to provide leadership and a vision for the Division as it relates to powerful learning in the areas of science technology engineering the arts and mathematics while leading critical initiatives on how to increase student engagement through innovative programming experiences and schools.
He/she/they assists the Superintendent and works collaboratively with the Superintendents Team.
Start Date: August 2025
Salary Range: $137703.64 173422.08
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Provides leadership for all STEAM education and programs throughout the Division.
- Coordinates divisional events designed to showcase student learning and thinking as it relates to STEAM.
- Provides support to schools and school teams to enhance STEAM education and instruction.
- Leads the Divisions engagement and attendance strategies and provides reports and recommendations to the Superintendents Team.
- Provides leadership related to innovative school design and stateoftheart tools.
- Leads and directs the Divisions technical and vocational programs.
- Liaises with industry and government to create realworld internship opportunities.
- Liaises with postsecondary institutions to develop dual credits and pathways to STEAM in post secondary.
- Assists the Superintendents Team school administrators and divisional team leaders in articulating and operationalizing to the community WSDs strategic plan.
- Participates in appropriate local provincial regional national and international organizations which promote the general goals of public education.
- Represents the Board when so directed at meetings of educational institutions in which the Division has an official or educational interest.
- Serves on Divisional committees as required.
- Serves as a liaison Superintendent of a family of schools.
- Recommends to the Superintendent the appointment of personnel in particular areas.
- Promotes a culture and climate built on principles of equity antioppression and antiracism and the pursuit of the goals of decolonization and reconciliation.

- Permanent Manitoba Teaching Certificate;
- Extensive experience as a school principal across K12.
