SUN Kids Lead Teacher/Site Coordinator TOA

Purpose Statement:
The job of TOA SUN Kids Lead Teacher/Site Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of coordinating the James P Lee Learning Center program at the school building level and related activities; providing information to others; implementing and maintaining services within established guidelines and standards; and coordinating activities and addressing issues situations and/or problems that arise on the site campus or with enrolled students and staff.
This job reports to the Director of Special Education
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership in sharing mission/vision with the site.
Be a part of discussions with the Program Specialist regarding best practices.
Monitors program/services (e.g. transportation safety plans (including the SERT plan) staff time sheets ePar site spreadsheet etc.) for the purpose of ensuring stated outcomes are achieved relevant policies and procedures are met and services are efficiently provided within budgetary and regulatory guidelines.
Lead the interview team when hiring instructional assistants for the site
Be a part of the interview team when hiring teachers for the program.
Work with the Program Specialist to identify Professional Professional Development needs of the site.
Provide onsite mentoring for classroom management and instruction.
Support others with processes and procedures of the building and district.
Confers with parents faculty staff administration and others to seek solutions for the academic personal behavioral and social/emotional problems of students.
Ensures appropriate communication with students parents teachers administrators and other related personnel.
Facilitate the PLC process on campus. This includes tracking all paperwork and documentation for PLCs sitting in on PLC meetings and giving general support to PLC teams.
Collaborate with the Program Specialist and Preschool Evaluation Teams in monthly meetings and placement of students.
Responds to issues involving staff conflicts in policies and regulations community concerns parental requests that may result in some negative impact and/or liability if not appropriately addressed for the purpose of identifying the relevant issues and recommending or implementing a plan of action that will efficiently resolve the issue and ensure compliance with policies/procedures.
Share evaluation with the Program Specialist of professional and/or support personnel (teachers and Preschool Evaluation Team members instructional assistants) for the purpose of monitoring performance providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of program curriculum.
Attend district meetings as required (K6 Principal meetings All Administrative meetings SPED Leadership meetings)

Skills Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: analytical and critical thinking using computational techniques with a focus on applying district state and federal policies and regulations; operating standard computing equipment; performing standard searching and sorting techniques of digital information; preparing and maintaining accurate records; utilizing pertinent software applications; maintaining a strict and high level of confidentiality and ethics; being selfmotivated and devoted; with excellent collaborative organization and communication skills.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic numeracy logic statistics including calculations using fractions percents probability inference and query language; read a variety of manuals write documents using native and numerical languages following prescribed formats and/or present information to others; and understand complex multistep written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: script query sequel and programming logic.
ABILITY is required to schedule a significant number of activities meetings and/or events; gather collate and/or classify data; and use basic jobrelated equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is
also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize jobrelated equipment. Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Responsibility
Responsibilities include: working independently under broad organizational guidelines to achieve unit objectives; directing other persons within a department large work unit and/or across several small work units; utilization of resources from other work units is often required to perform the jobs functions. Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting 25% walking and 15% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Education:
Bachelor degree or higher in Education
Certificates and Licenses:
Early Childhood Education and Special Education Certification Arizona Birth to age 8
Principal or Supervisor PreK12 Certificate Preferred

Valid Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
