The Design Systems lead will join a Global Design group that contributes to a range of product and strategic initiatives by participating in every aspect of the design process from discovery and ideation to prototyping testing iterating and product launch. The position is based in Toronto and may require some international travel to other CITCO locations. The Design Systems Lead will report to the Design Director and interact with business stakeholders and technical groups.
Responsibilities
Your role:
- Lead the implementation of a new Design System for Citcos customer and employee facing digital experiences
- Become an authority on Citcos design language setting standards for our design system and how systems thinking is embedded within Citcos design practice
- Lead designer for scalable re-usable front-end UI components that will be shared across the Citco ecosystem
- Incorporate input from the Creative Director on the atheistic direction and style guide for the Design System
- Create define and maintain the governance model and documentation for the Design System
- Create design test and document UI components experience patterns and design tokens
- Consult various design engagements to ensure consistency across various experiences
- Liaison with design system champions across all regions to ensure adoption growth an compliance
- Collaborate with CX Product and Platform Managers to align design system updates with feature needs
- Engage in supporting a design pod and support various designers in the creative process to ensure that you have a connection to the products that are being built/designed for

Qualifications
About You:
- Bachelors degree relevant experience or certifications in a related area
- 5 years of experience in digital product design or systems design as an individual contributor
- 2 years of leading and maintain a design system
- Experience with Material Design and MUI
- Experience building and maintaining complex design systems from scratch.
- Experience being part of or leading a successful team/project in a hybrid environment
- Communicational skills to build interdepartmental relationships
- Love working on finer details but know when to prioritize progress over perfection
- Ability to advise and influence stakeholders through reasoning
