Systems Development Engineer - Enterprise Networking, GCNA

The AWS Enterprise Network enables the connectivity needs for hundreds of thousands of Amazon employees and AWS data center corporate network customers around the world. This organization develops and operates the platform that Amazons businesses rely on to grow and scale by leveraging AWS Cloud Infrastructure whereever possible.

The Enterprise Network Reliability and Optimizations teams mission is to maximize network availability and eliminate work required by humans. We build and own: telemetry systems that can monitor alert and remediate networking events; foundational services that support network devices (think ingestion and enrichment of millions of logs per minute) at scale; and systems that allow us to rapidly configure deploy and scale our network. We are looking for an exceptional SysDev Engineer who is passionate about automation and reshaping customer experiences at scale.

You will have good knowledge of AWS Products DevOps patterns and mature CICD processes that will help build the next generation of services that enable selfhealing for our systems and minimize the work required of humans. Our ideal candidate will lead and mentor other Engineers be exceptionally customercentric and enjoy working in a fastpaced environment that requires excellent technical and communication skills.

You will join a team of tenured Software Systems and Network development Engineers who are instrumental in driving the stability and sustainability of our network and to discover innovative ways to automate and scale our network as Amazon expands to hundreds of corporate offices data centers and other locations worldwide.

Key job responsibilities
You will work on complex challenges in existing and new development initiatives. Your goal is to design and develop software systems that are secure maintainable scalable and extendable.
You will work with internal customers and stakeholders to understand their pain points and requirements.
Work closely with our Network/Systems team to ensure fast smooth rollout of new OS hotfixes for bugs and security vulnerabilities using automation as well as assist with deployment and sustaining of networking software tools.
You will be part of the team who is responsible for designing the configuration source for tens of thousands of network devices. Additionally you will develop tools device drivers and orchestration mechanisms to consistently apply configurations across this largescale device fleet.
You will share your knowledge with others and also learn from others. Our team is one where you own everything end to end: design development testing deploying through rapid iteration.
You will develop internal solutions that allow us to scaling via automation and automate away operational inefficiencies.
Must have experience hands on development of automation software in at least one modern language such as Python AWS CDK and Cloud formation or others.
Desirable to have an understanding of AWS services mainly networking products such as AWS VPC Transit Gateways ANF NATGateways Cloudwatch AWS Lambda.

A day in the life
As a part of Enterprise Enterprise Network Reliability and Optimization team we are responsible for ensuring our Network Operators are equipped to monitor operate and troubleshoot new technologies hardware and tools getting introduced as part of the new design. We own writing the automation for automatic deployment of configuration and Operating systems to scale of 10ks of devices in the Enterprise network.

Experience in automating deploying and supporting largescale infrastructure
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
Experience with Linux/Unix
