Title: Director of Pittaway Preschool

Reports to: Superintendent of Schools
Job Goal:
- Provide school leadership and administration in the planning and delivery of preschool programming which integrates special education students and their tuitionpaying community peers.
- Maintain and conduct all building administrative duties.
- Establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school through a sequence of goalsetting and longrange planning with faculty parents and district administration.
- Advocate and work in collaboration with the Superintendent Assistant Superintendent Director of Student Services Prek SPED coordinator and all other district staff.

Personnel:
- Supervises plans and organizes the implementation of all school activities.
- Participates in the selection and supervision of all personnel assigned to the school.
- Orients newly assigned staff and assists in their development.
- Supervises evaluates and counsels all staff regarding their individual and group performance.
- Plans and implements the inservice training for professional staff in conjunction with others.
- Administers the provision of all collective bargaining agreements.
Administration:
- Initiates the development of the budget for the school (preschool program)
- Assumes responsibility for the expenditure of funds assigned to the school.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Assumes responsibility of day to daytoday safety and administration of the school (building)
Program:
- Monitors the instructional programming within the school creating learning environments for students staff and families.
- Works with the Director of Student Services Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum building Principals etc to provide effective programming for all students.
- Acts as the liaison between the school system and the community; explains activities and policies of the school serves as a representative of the admin and school committee and encourages active participation of staff parents and community members.
Community:
- Acts as a liaison between the district and early childhood providers
- Supports the operation of parent organizations including the site council PTO and ASHPAC
- Establishes effective communication links with community stakeholders and families
Pupils:
- Establishes guidelines for safe conduct for students (in collaboration with parents and staff)
- Establishes a school climate that fosters growth and respect for students and staff
- Establishes and maintains a system for attendance health and conduct
Self:
- Develops a plan for selfimprovement participates in professional development and attends professional meetings as appropriate on issues of relevance.
System:
- Works with the administration on systemwide concerns such as transportation health nutrition and facility management
- Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all school committee policies
- Participates in committees as directed by the Superintendent.
