Requirements

We are looking for innovative and dedicated individuals who have:


Option I: A Bachelors degree* from an accredited college or university in Computer Science Management Information Systems or a closely related field AND Three (3) years of experience performing software development project management or business** or systems analysis*** in a centralized information technology organization****.


OR


Option II: Six (6) years of experience in planning managing and leading the execution of information technology projects in a centralized information technology organization****. A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in any field may substitute for up to two (2) years of the required experience.


For Options I and II Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of experience.

*To receive credit for your education include a copy of your official diploma official transcript or letter/certificate from an accredited institution. The document should show the date the degree was conferred and be in English; if it is in a foreign language it must be translated and evaluated for equivalency to U.S. standards. **Business analysis is defined as understanding documenting and improving business processes and performing business process analysis in the context of IT systems. Common work products include business requirements specifications for IT systems process diagrams logical data models and functional systems designs.

***Systems analysis is defined as applying knowledge of technology and current systems in the use of functional requirements and process designs to produced detailed technical designs specifying how the requirements will be implemented in application systems.

****A centralized Information Technology organization which is under the direction or guidance of the Chief Information Technology official for the department or major organizational unit is responsible for providing comprehensive IT services including analysis design acquisition and/or development implementation maintenance or support of information systems; and in which the work performed is in direct relationship to the IT requirements and initiatives of the department or major organizational unit.

Class II Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

MULTIPLECHOICE AND SIMULATION ASSESSMENTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.

Applicants must achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on each assessment to be added onto the list.

Exam Review:

Multiple choice and/or simulation assessments are not reviewable by candidates per CSR 7.19.

Transfer of test components:

If you recently took identical components for other exams the test responses may be automatically transferred to this examination. This exam contains test components that might be used on future exams and your responses could be transferred to that exam.

Test preparation:

We provide study guides and other test preparation resources to help candidates prepare for employment tests. While the guides may help in preparing for the test we recommend reviewing all related materials that seem necessary.

Eligibility and Vacancy Information:

Candidates who pass the assessment are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months. We will use this list to fill vacancies as they occur.
