Greater Lawrence Technical School is seeking a dedicated Reading Specialist to support students in developing literacy skills critical to their academic and career success. The ideal candidate will have expertise in evidencebased reading instruction and intervention and will collaborate with teachers across disciplines to integrate literacy strategies into career and technical education (CTE) and academic coursework. The ideal candidate should also be flexible in providing literacy support through a variety of formats such as small group instruction pushin support/coteaching and collaboration with teachers across FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Select administer analyze and utilize a range of assessments to identify student needs monitor progress and inform scheduling groupings and instructional targeted reading interventions for students who need support with literacy skill students literacy development through various formats such as small group instruction and pushin support/ with the reading specialist team on a regular basis to continue to develop the reading program including the development of the curriculum through the use of adopted instructional with both academic and career area teachers on integrating literacy strategies into a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with educators administrators and current in best practices for literacy instruction and classroom in professional development and remains current in the field. Any other relative teaching duties as assigned.
