The Sr Director Vaccines RWE/Epidemiology will lead a team of scientists in generating realworld evidence and epidemiologic studies to support medical strategy across the entire drug development incumbent must operate as both a subject matter expert in RWE and epidemiology as well as strategic thought partner and collaborator spanning TA Medical teams TA Research Units the CMO organization (Regulatory Safety DS&A Medical Enablement & Quality). For their TA responsibility this leader must ensure that RWE/Epidemiology is connected to MEG Asset Leads and that those teams are working closely towards successful Integrated Evidence role is accountable for the quality timeliness efficiency and strategic value for all RWE/Epi deliverables produced by their team. In this role the incumbent will build a broad internal network of Pfizer stakeholders to cultivate innovation crossfunctional collaboration and identify opportunities for RWE/Epi to increase the success and value of Pfizer assets. This leader will be expected to engage and influence the external environment for regulatory use of realworld evidenceby publishing positions papers and finding opportunities for dialogue with FDA EMA and other agencies globally.
Capabilities:
Oversee team execution of realworld evidence and epidemiology studies as part of crossfunctional Integrated Evidence Plans.
Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership to advance Pfizers use of RWE/Epi to develop high value medicines.
Partner with MEG Asset Leads to ensure strategic input is being provided to IEPs through Global Medical Affairs Teams.
Work collaboratively to establish & operationalize processes & systems to deliver RWE/Epi studies and other deliverables to execute on IEP plans.
Create / implement a framework for measuring RWE/Epi success.
Devise & manage metrics/scorecards to measure efficacy & productivity
Manage a diverse talent pipeline & create a culture of growth and continuous learning
Stakeholder management: build coalitions & develop strong partnerships across disciplines & geographies to optimize RWE/Epi teams performance / contribution.
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers develop and coach others oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree including MD or PhD in Epidemiology Outcomes Research or a related discipline.
10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical academic and/or medical environments
Experience operating within large crossfunctional matrices and collaborating with multiple partners.
Demonstrated effectiveness as a strategic partner to key internal stakeholders.
Strong executive presence and welldeveloped leadership skills.
Understands how a pharma enterprise operates and how to leverage that insight to produce deliverables.
Knowledgeable of the external regulatory environment for realworld evidence and maintains awareness of scientific developments in epidemiology medicine and technology (e.g. artificial intelligence)
Proven leader of effective teams and has a track record of fostering colleague growth.
Work Location Assignment: On Premise
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $242000.00 to $403400.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
