The West Daly Regional Council covers 14000 square kilometres and is located about 300 to 420 kilometres southwest of Darwin. The area is mainly rural with three Indigenous communities at Peppimenarti Nganmarriyanga and Wadeye which are managed by West Daly Regional Council (Council).
Position Summary:
The Communications & Engagement Officer is responsible for creating and executing communication strategies aimed at increasing Council brand visibility and engagement. This role involves creating content implementing communication plans and managing endtoend campaign activities across multiple channels. The position also focuses on enhancing the Councils digital presence through the production of content for social media websites newsletter and branding materials in accordance with West Daly Regional Council strategic and regional plans policies procedures and relevant legislation.

About You
The successful applicant will possess:
Cert IV in Marketing Communication Digital Marketing or social media or equivalent qualification and/or considerable experience in a similar position in Local Government.
Strong writing editing proofreading layout and design professional printing/publishing skills including ability to present concepts verbally.
A professional customer focused manner and ability to facilitate and work with all levels of employees and management to achieve improved strategic and operational outcomes.
Demonstrated experience/capacity in providing reliable and professional advice to management at all levels across a broad range of issues relating to the specialty program.
Demonstrated ability to autonomously run projects document processes and take ownership of complex and specialised tasks.
Demonstrated experience with all types of social media (e.g. Facebook Twitter Instagram etc.).
Excellent written analytical and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate across all levels and different and complex cultural settings.
National Criminal History Check clearance and Current Working with children/Ochre Card.
Current Northern Territory Drivers Licence.
