Job Description

Description

This position helps make gospel teachings resources or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way. The purpose of this position is to provide vision direction and development to distribution outlets (stores) worldwide including product support for Deseret Book. The incumbent provides training and direction on store operations inventory issues and product information/presentation. In the US and Canada incumbent supervises 1822 Distribution Services centers and directs the opening of new centers and store closings as necessary. The incumbent provides supervision to center managers resolves issues and maintain personnel to sales ratios; establishes and maintains inventory turn levels; and establishes customer service standards. In international centers incumbent reviews store inventory assortments turnover personnel to sales ratios and customer service levels. Incumbent provides support to Deseret Book management for training and product information issues protect store brand and product investment; provide vision and recommendations on inventory issues. Success is measured by key operating statistics and customer/employee satisfaction.



Responsibilities
  • 20% Provide vision and best practices to center managers regarding all aspects of managing a retail center including inventory assortment and turn levels selling cost ratios security stands for IT and sacred clothing shipping schedules and creating standards for financial and operational issues.
  • 20% Travel to centers throughout North America to review operations audit best practices and act as a liaison with Temple Presidencies and Independent book sellers.
  • 20%Analyze data and metrics of global store to provide recommendations on key operating indicators.
  • 15% Coordinate with multiple DTAs and Global Manager to establish and report on key management indicators goals and facility needs.
  • 15% Hire review discipline and train Center Managers on cultural beliefs product knowledge merchandising annual goals operational procedures and provide 24 hour daily technical support.
  • 5% Meet regularly with Product Manager Information Technology Manager Logistics Manager Inventory Manager and Human Resource Manager to coordinate and review progress and system performance.
  • 4% Work with architects building designers and FM project supervisors on the construction and setup of new stores.
  • 1% Meet annually with Temple Presidents Recorders and Laundry Supervisor in North America to access product performance and needs of Temples.


Qualifications

BS degree in Business Management Marketing/Retail Management or related field plus a minimum of ten years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Excellent computer skills including Excel excellent verbal and written communication skills essential; ability to manage and motivate people; ability to train employees of various learning abilities to perform social and complex functions; ability to understand financial and budgeting procedures; ability to change and adapt in a rapidly changing environment; ability to set up computer component systems in a POS setting; advanced understanding of marketing and visual display techniques; basic understanding of fabric construction and style preferred. Must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada and have a current passport.
