Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics and Engineering
The Department of Physics and Engineering Science in the Gupta College of Science at Coastal
Carolina University invites applications for one visiting nontenure track position at the Visiting
Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2025 in support of its Applied Physics and Physics
Education programs. This is a 9month position paid out over 12 months and is renewable on an
annual basis for up to a total of 3 years depending on department needs and available funds.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics Physics Education or a closely related field by the time
of appointment and be comfortable teaching courses in the areas of conceptual physics algebra based and calculusbased university physics. Special preference will be given to applicants with
interdisciplinary qualifications or experience.
As part of a successful interview process candidates will be expected to provide a demonstration
of teaching effectiveness that highlights active learning.
