With a strong presence globally they are now expanding into the Malaysian market and seeking a detailoriented and proactive Legal Executive (Licensing & Legal) to join the Legal Department. This role focuses on managing company licensing matters and handling legal matters to ensure full regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Job Summary:
The role involves managing and reviewing licensing agreements supporting compliance efforts drafting legal documentation and assisting in a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in intellectual property or regulatory licensing legal drafting and contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft review and negotiate licensing agreements distribution agreements service contracts and NDAs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable licensing laws and regulations relevant to the industry.
- Maintain and update records of licensing documents expirations and renewals.
- Liaise with internal teams and external legal counsel on licensing and contractrelated matters.
- Conduct legal research and provide support on regulatory compliance issues.
- Monitor changes in legislation related to licensing data protection IP and commercial law.
- Assist in managing IP portfolios including trademark applications and renewals.
- Support internal audits risk assessments and legal reporting processes.
- Maintain a contract management system for legal documents and templates.
- Provide general legal support and administrative assistance to the legal team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent; a diploma in paralegal studies or similar is a plus.
- Minimum 2 4 years of relevant legal experience preferably in licensing or commercial law.
- Strong understanding of licensing frameworks and regulatory environments.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management.
- Excellent legal drafting negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools.
- Prior experience in a regulated industry (e.g. retails F&B FMCG will be advantage.
