An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a dynamic and fast-paced company at the forefront of legal technology and digital transformation. Youll work with an innovative global business driving change across legal property and financial services sectorswith a passionate and collaborative legal team behind you.

About the Role

Offered as an initial 12-month contract with strong potential to transition into a permanent role this position reports directly to the General Counsel and places you at the heart of legal strategy for the companys Australian operations. Youll play a key role in shaping legal frameworks and supporting business growth in a dynamic fast-evolving environment. Its a unique opportunity to apply your expertise across property privacy SaaS and financial compliance within an agile innovation-driven organisation where your impact will be both immediate and lasting.

What Youll Be Doing

- Advising on property and conveyancing law particularly in relation to digital transformation and automation tools

- Leading counsel on financial services compliance AML/CTF and regulatory frameworks (ASIC AFSL consumer protection)

- Ensuring strong compliance with privacy and data protection laws (Privacy Act 1988 and international standards)

- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts: MSAs SLAs SaaS agreements data-sharing

- Working closely with engineering and product teams to embed legal compliance into new products

- Keeping a close watch on legal and regulatory developments to proactively manage risk and foster innovation

- Supporting corporate governance and global legal operations

- Collaborating across legal and business functions to promote alignment and partnership

    What Were Looking For

    - Qualified legal practitioner in Australia

    - Minimum 7 years experience (firm or in-house ideally within tech or professional services)

    - Strong grounding in commercial law privacy outsourcing and third-party risk management

    - Comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities with autonomy and ownership

    - A pragmatic problem-solver who communicates clearly and works collaboratively

    - Experience working in a global legal function and comfortable collaborating across time zones
