Job Description
Title: Public Civil Estimator
Location: Remote (local to the DMV area)
Job Type: Contract / ContracttoHire
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate directly with the owner to enhance the public bidding process and program.
- Assess IFBs ITBs RFQs and RFPs providing recommendations on opportunities to pursue.
- Aggressively and accurately estimate project costs to maintain competitive pricing.
- Engage with qualified subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Analyze work sequences and scopes to ensure accurate costing and production.
- Utilize InEight software to develop comprehensive proposals.
- Partner with our inhouse Business Development and Marketing teams to evaluate and pursue public civil opportunities.
- Analyze outcomes of opportunities to gather insights for future decisions.
- Attend prebid meetings and submit inquiries to the project owner.
- Collaborate with Operations team members to establish production rates for tasks.
- Transition awarded projects smoothly to the Operations team.
Requirements:
- Proven efficiency in preparing accurate costing for a large volume of public opportunities with diverse scopes.
- Strong ability to secure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Experience in bidding on public prime work or public civil projects (e.g. highway utilities stormwater). Please provide details on project scope and value.
