The Department
The Alfred Cancer Program is responsible for the overall delivery of a comprehensive cancer service which involves a number of clinical areas and units including; Medical Oncology Clinical Haematology Bone Marrow Transplant Apheresis Statewide Haemophilia Service Radiation Oncology Clinical Trials Palliative Care and the Victorian Melanoma Service. The Alfred Health Clinical Haematology and Medical Oncology service offers a multidisciplinary setting for the diagnosis treatment and followup of the entire range of haematological and oncological diseases.
The Role
Alfred Cancer are seeking Administrative Patient Navigators who are an integral part of the haematology/medical oncology multidisciplinary team playing an important role in providing the first line response to incoming calls from patients carers and referrers in the community. They are an expert in supporting patient flow through the cancer care system and in facilitating timely patient access. Patient Navigators provide administrative support for multidisciplinary team meetings as well as ensuring patient appointments are scheduled and billed appropriately. This role is a direct support to both Clinical Nurse Consultants and Nurse Practitioners working within Haematology or Medical Oncology.
