TITLE: Longterm Substitute English Language Learner Teacher (ELL) Elementary SchoolESTIMATED TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT: September 21 2025 November 17 2025SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Student Services and Special Education the English Language Learner Teacher will provide support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for developing English Learner students ability to effectively perform courses of study in the English language; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers other professional staff and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Administers tests and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student language parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student achievement; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home student progress towards objectives expectations and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students parents and with instructional staff other school personnel parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual student English learner students for the purpose of improving their success in academics and English communication for the purpose of developing student ability to communicate effectively in the English a variety of written materials and correspondence for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student QUALIFICATIONS:Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree required. Valid licensure with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as an ELL Teacher Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge required includes performing basic math; reading technical information; composing documents; facilitating group discussions; analyzing situations to define issues/draw conclusions. Skills required include applying assessment instruments; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate required to schedule activities meetings and/or events; gather collate and/or classify data; use jobrelated equipment; flexibility to work with others; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; operate equipment; problem solving with data requiring independent interpretation of guidelines; establishing and maintaining constructive relationships; adapting to changing work priorities; maintaining confidentiality; and exhibiting tact and DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; position oneself to demonstrate technique; move up to 25 lbs. Accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the ENVIRONMENT:The work is generally performed primarily indoors and predominantly in a school classroom and school environment.
