Job Description
Role Summary:
The NBCUniversal Music Business & Legal Affairs department oversees music matters across the NBCUniversal portfolio including TV Filmed Entertainment and Parks & Resorts. Although this position will be primarily dedicated to NBCUniversals TV & Streaming (including NBC News NBCUOTS Sports & Olympics Late Night & Specials) division this role may also assist other clients across the business as needed. The Contract Specialist Music Business & Legal Affairs role will specifically support the SVP Music Business & Legal Affairs other attorneys and professional staff in the department.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Under supervision of a senior attorney negotiate draft review and interpret an extensive range of agreements including but not limited to composer recording talent and producer agreements soundtrack distribution agreements and license agreements
- Assist with research creating deal summaries and maintaining and otherwise administering daytoday contractual and operational matters including data entry preparation of letters and memoranda to internal and external clients presentations to seniorlevel management etc.
- Provide general risk assessment advice and support to the business
- Generally support the other attorneys and professionals in the department; including special projects and overflow tasks
Qualifications :
Basic Requirements:
- 1 years experience in a professional role requiring strong analytic and organizational skills and careful attention to detail as well as a Bachelors Degree; OR 2 a Juris Doctorate Degree
- Superior communication interpersonal drafting analytical and organizational skills
- Selfstarter high level of motivation ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficient in Outlook Calendar Contacts
- Proficient in Word PowerPoint and Excel

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits including medical dental and vision insurance 401(k) paid leave tuition reimbursement and a variety of other discounts and perks.
