Industrial Scientific is a global leader in gas detection solutions committed to keeping people safe in hazardous environments. We are seeking a driven and resultsoriented Area Sales Manager to join our team in South Africa. This position will report to the Senior Regional Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and executing a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas for gas detection solutions across South Africa.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers across various industries including but not limited to:
- Chemical
- Petrochemical
- Oil & Gas
- Mining
- Manufacturing
- Utilities
- Identifying customer needs and effectively presenting Industrial Scientifics gas detection solutions as the best fit for their safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Managing a network of distributors and channel partners ensuring their successful promotion and sales of our products.
- Deliver impactful sales presentations and technical seminars to educate potential and existing customers on the benefits of our gas detection systems.
- Build strong relationships with key decisionmakers in various South African industries including oil & gas mining chemical manufacturing and utilities.
- Negotiate and close subscription contracts with new and existing customers ensuring adherence to company pricing and sales policies.
- Regularly travel within South Africa to meet with customers and attend industry events.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing application engineering and customer service to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Participate in sales meetings conferences and trade shows to promote Industrial Scientifics gas detection solutions and build brand awareness.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the South African market dynamics gas detection regulations and competitor landscape.
- Utilize CRM and other sales tools effectively to track sales activity generate reports and forecast future sales performance.
- Contribute to the development of sales strategies and ensure alignment with company objectives and ethical codes of conduct.
- Providing ongoing technical and application support to customers ensuring they leverage the full potential of our gas detection solutions.
- Preparing insightful sales reports and forecasts to support regional and national sales goals.
- Valid South African drivers license and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (NonNegotiable):
- Bachelors degree in business administration Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of successful experience in B2B sales preferably within the industrial safety or gas detection industry.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
- Strong understanding of gas detection technologies and their applications.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and partners at all levels.
- Selfmotivated resultsoriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working in South Africa and a deep understanding of the local market
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED (Negotiable):
- Strong understanding of gas detection technology safety regulations and their application in the oil & gas sector.
- Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills.
- Continuously develop and improve your knowledge of the oil & gas industry gas detection technology and the Saudi Arabian business landscape
- Participate in industry events conferences and trade shows to promote Industrial Scientifics gas detection solutions and build brand awareness within Saudi Aramco.
- Develop and maintain a competitive intelligence program to stay informed about market dynamics and competitor activity.
- Language Required: Afrikaans. English
- Additional Language Preferred: Xhosa Zulu Sotho
