We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Engineering Team based in Melbourne. Ecolabs engineering solutions enhance operational efficiency minimise water usage and support sustainability goals. We provide equipment and digital solutions with a strong sustainability focus to major Australian and global businesses across diverse sectors including mining commercial laundries food and beverage manufacturing paper and power. In this fieldbased role you will manage the design estimation tendering procurement and project management of chemical dosing and water treatment projects for our customers in VIC/TAS and supporting other states.
In this critical role you will be responsible for specifying and proposing chemical feed monitoring and control equipment procuring nonstandard equipment managing multiple regional equipment application projects and coordinating equipment support services.
Your principal job accountabilities will include:
Perform preinstallation site surveys prepare engineering sketches equipment lists and work schedules for all allocated regional equipment projects.
Manage factory and site commissioning works for equipment projects in accordance with ITPs and FATs.
Assist in the development of training materials and operating and maintenance manuals as well as all other documentation required for successful project delivery.
Assist the Engineering Manager and Sales Teams in identifying and developing sales opportunities for new and existing customers
Solicit bids from local mechanical and electrical contractors
Provide accurate and timely cost information required for the preparation of sales proposals and the management of capital resources associated with designated equipment projects.
Order systems equipment and component parts for allocated regional equipment projects
Provide the civil mechanical structural and electrical details including modifications
Make joint technical sales visits with regional personnel to define the scope of work and installation parameters associated with chemical feed monitoring control and unit operation equipment application requirements.
Prepare monthly reports covering progress of each project potential projects and problems encountered especially related to equipment design and function.
The willingness to travel to customer sites on a regular basis including overnight stays is critical.
To be successful you will ideally have:
An engineering degree in Chemical Process Electrical or Mechanical engineering is required.
Water industry experience
Proven experience in project management.
Microsoft Project and AutoCAD experience an advantage although not necessary.
Experience in automated control systems and plant commissioning will be considered favourably.
An unwavering commitment to safety.
Exceptional planning administration and organisational skills.
Customerfocused attitude.
A valid driving license.
