Summary
In Test Engineering we Design Fabricate Prove-In and Qualify the Test Systems that will test the non-nuclear components of nuclear weapons that we manufacture here at Honeywell FM&T. As Engineering Project Managers we lead multiple moderately to very complex Test Engineering Projects for one or more specific weapon programs through industry best practices project management Mechanical Engineer I role is an entry level position performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature and limited scope by applying standard mathematical physical science and/or engineering technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates executes and maintains project management plans (Scope Schedule Cost RiskManagement)
- Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to establish and deliver project milestones and deliverables on time to commitments.
- Participates in internal and external project reviews providing project status updates to NNSA and DoD customers and management.
- Leads monitors and controls projects in partnership with Engineering Technical Leads design agencies and management including coordination and facilitation of day-to-day project task and resources.
- Tracks and evaluates key performance metrics.
- Escalates and works to remove obstacles to project success.
- Acts as the Financial Project Manager and is responsible for all administrative task reporting and reviews including the management of forecast to improve accuracy and reliability in support of budget resources and workforce planning.
- Utilizes Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques and reports on progressand variance mitigation.
- May perform other duties as required.
You Must Have
- Ability to travel up to 10% to25% of the time.
- Ability to work remote hybrid or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics
- United States Citizenship
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Ability to obtain and maintain if required for position a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
