We have more than 124000 members who are songwriters composers and music publishers. We license organisations to play perform copy or record our members music and we distribute the royalties to our members.
We have a permanent fulltime opportunity to join the Digital Media Licensing team in Sydney.The Business Development Manager is a key revenue generating role suited to a selfmotivated energetic and astute individual that enjoys managing and motivating teams to achieve their best. The role is responsible for leading the Digital Media Licensing business development team whose primary function is to drive revenue growth via new business opportunities and digital license agreements across all areas of the ANZ digital landscape including music streaming video on demand gaming podcasts and online.
In this role you will:
- Negotiate and secure lucrative commercial licensing deals on behalf of APRA AMCOS members across all areas of the digital landscape
- Undertake market research and analyse industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and revenue generation
- Devise
and
implement
new
business
strategy
to maximise revenue and revenue opportunities
- Oversee the endtoend process of business development including lead generation outreach negotiation contracting and onboarding to the business
- Build and maintain positive long term relationships with key stakeholders including potential and existing licensees to maximise revenue and partnership potential
- Monitor and report on new business revenue in consideration of strategic revenue objectives
- Optimise and streamline business development processes to reduce agreement turnaround times improve internal efficiency and ensure a positive partnership experience for licensees
- Manage and develop two direct reports supporting their professional growth and leading a collaborative and high performing team

- Demonstrated ability to manage complex commercial matters and negotiations
- Proven record of sales growth
- Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to assess market trends and identify strategic opportunities
- A deep understanding of the digital media landscape and the evolving commercial value of music in digital media
- Established professional network and connections with digital media businesses
- Personable persuasive with the capability to credibly represent APRA AMCOS and develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to listen sensitively to the views of others and to communicate effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
