As our company continues on its path of steady growth we are seeking candidates for the position of Sr. Financial Analyst which reports directly to the General Manager at HighRoad Press. This position requires direct involvement in both plant operations and corporate finance activities and initiatives as required. Duties include overall responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of financial and operational management information to be used in reporting financial results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Review monthend inventory balances which includes performing inventory counts analyzing usage and reviewing open purchase orders
Analyze current and past financial performance by identifying trends and providing recommendations for improvement
Review monthend financial statements and record general journal entries as necessary
Analyze monthly costing analyses by job and customer
Present timely accurate financial statements to Executives on a monthly basis
Manage other finance departments to ensure monthend deadlines are met. Provide coaching and be a resource for questions as needed.
Adequately manage cash flows which includes monitoring past due customer balances (Accounts Receivable) and ensuring timely vendor payments (Accounts Payable). Communicate with outside customers/vendors as necessary.
Perform intercompany reconciliations
Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team to maintain financial systems & support
Evaluate and optimize accounting processes
Review and test internal controls over internal processes
Act as a resource to the General Manager Corporate Controller or VP of Finance to assist in other miscellaneous Finance/Reporting projects as needed
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Qualified candidates will have a bachelors degree in accounting or finance plus two to five years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must have a solid understanding of basic accounting and financial reporting principles. Public accounting experience and an active CPA is not required but preferred. Proficiency in 10key and Microsoft Excel is required. Manufacturing or commercial printing background is favorable. Sage software experience is helpful.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate with internal and external customers. Strong communication skills are a must. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
Mathematical skills: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole number common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems collect relevant data and interpret the data based on instructions furnished in written oral diagram and schedule form. Establish facts draw valid conclusions and present conclusions in a meaningful way to managers.
Essential Skills: Operate computers using Microsoft Office and Printers; use office equipment including calculator copies fax and telephone; communicate effectively with fellow employees and customers (verbal and electronic). Proficient in Excel which includes use of key formulas including v/xlookup sumifs and pivot tables. Preferred experience of managing a team of at least 14 employees. Supervisory experience and ability to manage employees at remote locations will be a plus.
