Description

Emory Healthcare is an academic medical center with a high acuity patient population. Our pharmacy staff works side by side with our fellow health care providers creating an interdisciplinary team approach to patient care. The Pharmacy at Emorys goal is to provide patient andfamily centered medication management to the patients we serve and defining a new standard of care for humankind.

The primary responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Clinic Pharmacy Services are to assist in coordinating and directing daytoday operations for the hospital pharmacy department; oversees quality assurance clinical and administrative services staff development programs and the development of policies and procedures. Serves as a liaison with hospital administrators staff and other departments to ensure the flow of accurate and timely information. Supervision of staff; assistance in developing the department budget and ensures that daily activities are compliant with federal state and organizational regulations.

  • Assists with the planning administration and monitoring of the department capital equipment operations and personnel budgets; reviews prior budget expenses regularly reviews year to date expenses investigates variances and takes corrective action as necessary.

  • Assists in developing departmental short and longterm goals and objectives. Analyzes departmental strengths weaknesses opportunities and constraints to give direction to staff in working toward meeting objectives. Seeks input and recommendations from staff on ways to improve operations. Establishes administers and communicates policies procedures and related forms in accordance with state federal and organizational guidelines. Communicates and monitors regulatory changes and their impacts on compliance with standards and guidelines.

  • Manages staff and employee performance. Resolves Human resourcerelated issues determines staffing needs interviews and hires staff. Provides ongoing performance feedback addresses problems verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Determines disciplinary termination and salary actions. Monitors and directs and redirects workflow as necessary to meet established levels of productivity.

  • Coordinates monitors and evaluates department programs for quality assurance clinical and support services provided by the pharmacy to ensure compliance with federal state and organizational regulations. Assists with department quality assurance activities for compliance with organizational state and federal regulatory standards. Reviews documentation which is completed on each incident in the pharmacy and incorporates pertinent information in a routine hospital information report.

  • Assists in the development coordination and maintenance of an online electronic database and computerized system for pharmacy services. Collects organizes and analyzes data to generate and provide accurate and complete reports for management and/or regulatory agencies. Coordinates activities which ensure the security of department records cash and confidential or sensitive information; this includes issuing authorization codes for computer access telephones beepers and cash registers.

  • Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Provides opportunities for the professional development of department staff to promote a knowledge of current trends and practices in pharmaceutical services and to promote leading edge technology.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy. Masters degree preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Pharmacist in the state of Georgia.
  • Five years of clinical experience of which three years are in a management role.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
