Job Description

HR Generalist Plateau GRP
Location: Hybrid 3 days/week in Fairfax VA)


Plateau GRP is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR Generalist to join our growing Human Resources team. In this pivotal role you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions including employee relations onboarding compliance and performance management. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to take on greater responsibility and make a meaningful impact within a dynamic fastpaced environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong HR foundation a passion for employee engagement and a detailoriented approach to ensuring compliance with all applicable local state and federal regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies procedures and best practices.
  • Oversee and enhance the onboarding and orientation process to ensure a welcoming and compliant new hire experience.
  • Maintain and update employee records in Plateaus HRIS (Paylocity) ensuring accuracy confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters performance management and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies procedures and programs that support a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations including required reporting and documentation.
  • Partner with leadership on HR initiatives such as employee engagement training and development and organizational planning.
  • Lead or contribute to various HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience preferably within a federal contracting environment.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices employment law and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and experience using HRIS platforms (Paylocity preferred).
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance if required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using Paylocity for HR operations.
  • SHRMCP PHR or other HR certification is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience supporting HR in a government contracting or compliancedriven environment.
