About the Position
Dotdash Meredith is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead and oversee financial activities within our organization. The Finance Director will play a pivotal role in driving the companys financial strategy ensuring the effective management of financial resources and providing leadership in financial decisionmaking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management strategic planning and business acumen as well as a deep understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Inoffice Expectations: This position is hybrid inoffice (Des Moines IA) with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the longterm financial success of our newsstand businesses.
- Provide financial leadership and direction to the organization ensuring financial objectives align with business goals.
- Advise senior management and executives on financial implications of strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Lead the preparation of financial forecasts budgets and longterm financial plans for our newsstand businesses.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends risks and opportunities for improvement.
Compliance & Financial Control
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Monitor and enforce financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure proper accounting procedures.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the newsstand finance team ensuring a high level of performance and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment while encouraging continuous improvement.

The Roles Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or a related field (Masters degree or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in financial planning budgeting forecasting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles financial regulations and tax laws.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software (e.g. SAP Oracle QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic environment and make strategic decisions under pressure.
