TITLE:Administrative Assistant/ Professional Development Coordinator
REPORTS TO:Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction
LENGTH OF CONTRACT OR WORK YEAR:12 months
SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant/Professional Development Coordinator will provide administrative organizational and financial assistance for the Curriculum and Instruction department. This position is responsible for office support operations using technology and accounting systems for daily responsibilities. This position also serves as a coordinator to aid certified staff with professional development opportunities that will enhance knowledge skills and abilities and produce continuing education units (CEUs) and school executive management institute (SEMI) credits.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Environment: Standard office and school setting; moderate travel; exposure to potentially stressful environments; regularly perform inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate lifting up to 20 pounds; regularly required to walk sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; may require climbing stooping kneeling or crouching.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction; the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Intermediate knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
2. Knowledge of Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District policies and procedures including student and employee handbooks.
3. Knowledge of the use of general office equipment including computer copier fax machine phone etc.
4. Ability to learn local state and federal purchasing policies and guidelines as they relate to education financial and accounting systems.
5. Ability to prioritize organize and complete multiple assignments.
6. Ability to understand accounting software for recording and reporting.
7. Ability to adapt to change and selfmanage.
8. Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy.
9. Ability to work with diverse groups including students of all ages as well as parents staff
and community members.
10. Possess typing editing and proofreading skills.
