Lead Safety with Purpose Join Mars as our HSE Manager at the Ballarat Chocolate Factory!
Were on the hunt for a passionate and experienced Health Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to join our iconic Ballarat site the home of our most loved brands including Maltesers Snickers and M&Ms!
This is more than just a compliance role. Youll be at the heart of shaping a culture where safety and sustainability are championed every day driving real change that protects our people our community and our planet.
Whats the opportunity
As our HSE Manager youll lead the charge in bringing our safety and environmental vision to life. Working closely with senior leaders and your dedicated onsite HSE team youll develop and embed strategies that ensure we operate to worldclass standards with the autonomy and influence to make it happen.
Youll primarily focus on our Ballarat manufacturing site but also support safety initiatives across our broader business unit.
What will you be doing
- Lead and develop a passionate team of 3 HSE professionals
- Design and implement a forwardthinking HSE strategy aligned to Mars global and local standards
- Elevate site compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and go beyond to set new benchmarks
- Drive environmental and sustainability initiatives that make a real impact
- Partner with site leaders to set bold HSE goals and deliver measurable results
- Champion a culture of care wellbeing and continuous improvement across the site
What were looking for:
- Degree qualified in Safety Environmental Management Engineering or a related field
- Proven leadership experience in manufacturing FMCG or production environments
- A confident people leader who can inspire coach and influence at all levels
- Sound knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices
- A datadriven mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- A proactive solutionsfocused approach with the courage to challenge the status quo
