Welcome to YSS!
YSS is seeking a Masters Level Treatment Intern to join our Therapy staff! You can become part of our team in any of our Central Iowa locations including Ames Cambridge Boone Des Moines Mason City and Webster City!
YSS staff are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve and providing a quality learning experience. We want to learning opportunities that maximize your skills and interests to improve our organization and better impact the communities and individuals we serve. Under the supervision of a licensed clinician you will assist the YSS Clinician Team. Supervision is focused on integrating classroom knowledge with authentic application in a professional work setting putting theory into daily practice. Basic responsibilities include:
- Communicating with supervisor regarding required school learning criteria.
- It is the your responsibility to ensure your educational requirements are satisfied.
- Attending a mandatory YSS orientation to cover agency procedures policies and requirements.
- Completing assessments and treatment plans.
- Utilizing multiple treatment modalities with children adolescents and adults.
- Providing trauma informed treatment and crisis resolution
- Performing professional realworld field work.
- Using electronic medical records systems.
- Attending Team meetings and event specific meetings.
- Participating in allstaff trainings or meetings offered during your internship.
- Assisting with other office duties including filing and data entry.

To be considered candidates MUST HAVE:
- A Masters degree in Psychology or a Masters degree in progress.
- Experience working with youth facing substance use and dependency.
