Job Description
Amazons Payments Security manages payments for all Amazon customers worldwide and the incredible pace of innovation and customer impact never slows down. From enabling Amazon to expand internationally into new markets to enabling new businesses such as Alexa Payments Security is at the heart of Amazons vision to be Earths most customer centric. At the core of Payments Security is customer trust. As we store multibillion payment instruments on behalf of our customers and manage multibillion dollar transaction volumes we do so with industryleading security practices.
Payments Security is looking for world class securityminded Technical Program Manager who can design drive and launch new initiatives that impact not just Payments but entire Amazon. The qualified candidate will own and drive technical strategy and direction for large and complex initiatives that enables Amazon to continue to securely scale for new business and markets worldwide.
This role requires working closely with businesses across Amazon the product management team the payments development team and key software development and security engineering teams across the company to define strategy and requirements and then lead projects through operations design and delivery. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status risks and product strategy. Excellent listening writing skills and strong technical competency are essential.
The ideal candidate has thrived and succeeded in delivering broadly adopted technology products/services in a very high growth environment where priorities shift quickly. He or she is a strong leader who can prioritize well communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence.
Qualified candidates have experience defining projects and features collecting requirements writing detailed functional and test specifications coordinating large cross functional projects and schedules and delivering complex projects with accurate results at high scale.
Basic qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
5 years of relevant work experience in internetrelated technical program management in a software applications environment
3 years experience in a software development or program manager role
Handson knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review threat modeling risk analysis and software testing techniques
Experience designing and delivering software
Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects work prioritization planning and task delegation
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
Broad commercial awareness developed in a fastmoving environment
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skill
Innovative and selfdirected
Excellent problemsolving skills
Preferred qualifications
Experience with agile or other program management methodologies
Masters degree in Computer Science and/or Business Administration
Prior experience as a software developer
Information security professional certifications encouraged (SANS GIAC CISSP etc.
Experience with an ecommerce company or financial software is a plus
Experience architecting securing and operating Amazon Web Services
Strong bias for action with proven ability to handle timesensitive security tasks
Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion
Curiosity to dig several layers deep into technical solutions with an eye toward continuous improvement
Experience communicating with technical and nontechnical stakeholders across multiple business units

5 years of technical product or program management experience
7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
