As a Finance Business Partner at the University of Melbourne youll play a crucial role in driving financial excellence and supporting strategic goals. Youll partner closely with department heads and key stakeholders providing invaluable financial insights and decisionmaking support. This role offers you the opportunity to leverage your expertise in a highly visible position influencing resource allocation and contributing to the Universitys overall success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Financial Partnering: Serve as a trusted advisor aligning financial strategies with divisional priorities and University objectives.
  • Performance Analysis and Insights: Monitor financial performance providing indepth analysis and recommendations to drive informed decisionmaking.
  • Resource Optimisation: Ensure efficient and effective allocation of financial resources to support strategic and operational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders serving as the primary point of contact for financial matters.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a qualified finance professional with a passion for business partnering possessing strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders.

You may also:

  • Hold a CA CPA or CIMA qualification or have relevant postgraduate qualifications in Finance or Accounting.
  • Have experience in a similar role within a large complex organisation.
  • Demonstrate advanced analytical skills and attention to detail in fastpaced environments.
  • Excel in data visualisation and storytelling techniques to convey financial insights.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show a track record of identifying and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Have knowledge of the higher education sector (desirable).
